Hook: Mustad 3399, #4-#16
Thread: Danville 6/0, White & Black
Body: Danville 4-Strand Rayon Floss, alternating White & Red
Wing: Mottled Turkey
Hackle: Black

The June is a very interesting wet fly. The body on the June calls for alternating White and Red floss, which I think would be very hard to do if you are wanting to tie in both strands of floss at the same time. I opted to lay down a base of white floss and then wrap the Red floss in as sort of a rib but making it as flat as possible and such that there would end up the same number of white wraps showing as red wraps. You have to be careful with the red floss because you can not just wind in on flay, the fibers tend to spread out. You have to have a slight twist in the floss so that as it is applied to the body it "flattens" out but still has an slight twist so as to stay together. It takes a little practice. -- Enjoy
