Eddy Arenas Jr. is a Texas based fly fisher, fly tyer and aspiring guide and captain.
Fishing has been the biggest part of my life ever since I can remember.
My father Capt. Eddy Arenas Sr. has been my biggest mentor and has taught me just about everything I know. Fly fishing has proven to be hands down the absolute best chapter of my fishing career. Every aspect from the knot tying to the fly tying intrigues me.
Down here in south Texas the Lower Laguna Madre (LLM) offers some of the best fly fishing year round. The winter temperatures tend to bring in the elusive trophy trout. You can expect to catch everything from redfish to flounder even the occasional barracuda.
I currently work part time at Bass Pro Shops and attend college. On my free time I'm usually tying flies or out in the bay staying up to date on fish movement and patterns.
I am a firm believer in conservation and practice what I preach, any and every fish caught is released to be caught another day. I look forward to getting my Capt. License and taking my fly fishing to the next level. As of right now I'm part of the Laguna Madre Fly Fishing club, a member of the Sage Pro Staff Team and I've been featured in the Texas Saltwater Magazine.
Special thanks to SAGE, Capt. Eddy Arenas Sr., Capt. Ernest Cisneros and Roy Lopez.
