We are schooled on "upstream fishing", but how many are fishing downstream?
To enjoy your fishing more, learn how to fish downstream as well.
Downstream nymphing, with one and two nymphs. Weighted and unweighted.
Downstream dry fly. Make sure you can cast and drift your dry flies without drag, downstream.
Downstream streamers. Ensure that you can swim them broadside and straight down.
Downstream wet flies. Practice on how to make them swim perfect for slow rivers, fast rivers.
Learn how how do drift flies downstream into a good holding lie that is not possible to reach from a downstream position casting upstream.
All this sounds easy, but it takes lots and lots of practice on the water before you can do this 100%. Practice and practice. From dry fly, nymphs, euro nymphing, wet flies, swing flies, dapping flies, weighted surface nymphing, dry fly drag, skating and how to use mending.
