Frances Plug

The pattern is a basic pattern and is tied in several variations:

  • Plug Frances: 5mm + 4mm bead.
  • Franc'n Plug is a variation of the Franc N Snealda with stacked cones, a hackle in front and a longer and slimmer collar.
  • Micro Plug: 5mm bead + 4mm cone
  • FF Plug Frances: rear disc + 5mm + 4 mm bead + 4 mm cone.

The step-by-step in the article shows a FF Plug Frances, a variation originated by Kim Sørensen.

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher was updated to a new publishing system early March 2025, and there may still be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
